Satguru Shree Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, lovingly known as Amma, has been consoling, guiding, and blessing millions of people across the world for more than three decades. Through her boundless compassion and divine vision, Amma perceived that many of the difficulties faced by people in life often arise due to unfavourable planetary influences—especially those related to Saturn (Sani), Mars, and Rahu—as well as the effects of past actions. This understanding echoes the wisdom of the great Rishis and Sages, who prescribed specific remedial worship practices known as Parihara Poojas.

In today’s world, however, only a few are able to perform these Parihara Poojas with faith, and many are not blessed with the opportunity to participate in them directly. To address this need and to make these sacred remedies accessible to all, Amma envisioned and established the Brahmasthanam Temples.

Brahmasthanam Temples

Brahmasthanam Temples were founded by Amma with the sole intention of helping humanity lead peaceful, harmonious, and spiritually fulfilling lives. Amma herself consecrated the deities in these temples by performing Prana Pratishtha, breathing divine life into the idols. A unique and profound feature of every Brahmasthanam Temple is the sacred Lingam, around which four divine forms are present—Devi, Lord Ganesha, Lord Subramanya in the form of a serpent, and Lord Shiva. This symbolizes the eternal truth that though divine forms may differ, God is One.

Under Amma’s guidance, the pooja procedures in Brahmasthanam Temples are designed to help reduce or neutralize the negative effects of past karmas and planetary influences. These poojas are performed throughout the year by dedicated Ashramites, and everyone is welcome to participate, irrespective of caste, religion, or background. When performed with sincerity and faith, and with Amma’s compassionate blessings, these poojas are believed to bring peace, clarity, and positive transformation in one’s life.
